Fall Family Photography Mini Sessions- 2020 {Scotsdale Farms, Georgetown}

When we decided to open up a weekend for our clients and friends back in studio60's old home town of Halton Hills, we were thrilled at the response we had from everyone. We booked up the whole day! With Covid19 lingering and always a concern, we were grateful to see so many familiar faces from a distance.

This is Shannon's family. Her and I go way back to our highschool days. I Still can't believe her wedding was our first wedding gig! They trusted us then and so many times after, but during a year of pandemic, it felt more amazing to be asked to take their family photos. She missed out on a newborn session due to the lockdown so having photos done while their newest baby is still a baby, was a a great accomplishment.

It was beautiful weather and a great day for their family to visit Scotsdale farms for the first time. Pretty sure Roxy (the dog) had the most fun in the fields. Can't wait to see you all again. Stay safe!

T-shirts and light sweaters instead of down jackets and red noses was how we spent this family session. Was this November 2020? With our studio closed to the public (thanks Covid), we are utilizing the great outdoors as our studio for all seasons and when the weather is that good in the fall - we love to get out and photograph! We were glad to spend time with A&D on a beautiful day... from a distance of course. We have watched this blended family come together over the last few years and continue to be happy while raising two teens and one pre-teen and two dogs- amazzaazing! We had to show them our gorgeous trails in Wasaga Beach Provincial Park and around the Nottawasaga River. If you haven't been, now is the time to get outside and explore!

We have a lot of catching up to do!

So many photos to share, so many weddings to post. We had to start with Katie-Jane & Scott's Wedding to get our photography blog posts going again.

From the first time KJ emailed us from Alberta, to the time we arrived at Scott's family home, we couldn't wait for their big event! Studio60 Photography made it's trek over to Sudbury, Ontario to photograph the Manfield's wedding day. The property was fantastic. handmade rustic decor, lots of flowers, BBQ reception, homemade Bar and a tent to shelter all from the rain. It was a gorgeous ceremony and an overall beautiful day to remember.

We truly had a great time with Katie-Jane and Scott and wish them all the best in life's adventures.

Toronto Wedding Photography at The Boiler House Loft | Distillery District | C+A Wedding

A beautiful day for C+A's Wedding at The loft located in The Toronto Distillery District. We started off getting ready between a hotel and their condo, and thanks to the people at Hank's Restaurant for letting us have a private area, we were able to stage their first reveal at their favourite spot. All this traveling was done thanks to Uber. This is our first wedding to have the Bridal Party only use an Uber for their mode of transportation and it was an interesting experience. Definitely worked out with the amount of people we had, but would suggest an alternative route it if you have a party larger than 8.

The weather was warm, sky was cloudy and overcast all day, perfect lighting for outdoor photography. Rain or shine, The Distillery is a perfect spot for any event. The natural backdrops it provides for your photos are incredible. We love the Lock wall (even being bare), it is a beautiful feature and of course the stone walls are always a favourite. Be sure the view all our images and if you ever get a chance, visit the Distillery District. It's beautiful.

We are super excited to see our photography published in a wedding magazine & blog!

Our team of fabulous vendors brought their best to this photo shoot and we love how it all came together beautifully!

We had the pleasure of working with these designers featuring Tara-Brigitte Bhavnani, a first artist with the Royal Ballet of London, England.

The shoot took place in the gorgeous Hacienda Sarria, an event venue in Kitchener, Ontario. We used rich colours and high contrast to create this lavish and luxurious setting. The elements came together perfectly to showcase our collaborated vision with Gurley Events.

Our efforts did not go un-noticed... our style shoot ‘To The Pointe’ is featured as a 3 page spread in the 10th Anniversary edition

M+M Engagement Party- Mississauga, ON

We bring you a glimpse of M+M's lovely, intimate engagement party. They chose the Croatia Restaurant in Mississauga Ontario for their venue and so glad they did! The food, open bar and atmosphere were amazing. They hosted their celebration with their family and friends on Valentine's Day weekend. Guests of M+M enjoyed live music with a surprise performance of a budding pianist in the family debuting her talent.

Love was the theme. We enjoyed all the little details that were put into the night. With plenty of cupcakes and other delicious desserts to choose from, a gigantic heart shaped box welcomed guests with chocolate treats with their names and table numbers, gorgeous flower arrangements on each table and balloon arrangements too.

We look forward to their Engagement photography session this summer before they depart for their destination wedding to a tropical paradise!

We sure love when our local couples keep their wedding celebrations local too. From getting ready in Acton (...loved having a 2 minute drive from our home), a wedding ceremony in Milton, their bridal party photos in Scotsdale Farms in Georgetown followed by an amazing reception at Rockmosa Community Centre in Rockwood, Ontario.

Their love for the outdoors and hunting were shown in the details.Dawson and his boys strutted around with camo suspenders and boutonniere's made of a shotgun shell and burlap flowers. SO creative!!

Leanne + Dawson shined through all the rainy weather during their wedding photography. Everyone had smiles and fun with umbrellas!

So happy mamma Jane got a hold of us while we were on vacation in England. With an appointment available the day after we arrived home, I got to meet Baby London. (Coincidence that we were in London, England the day before!) Its hard to believe the first time we met Jane was for her first child's baby photography session almost 3 years ago.

London was our quietest, sleepy baby to date. She slept the whole time plus no accidents! A true success.

An amazing day was had with this bunch! Our good friends, Pam + Sean with their two adorable kids plus their moon dog, Skippy experienced their first ever, family photo session.

With the sun blaring and the humidity levels high, this family was fantastic! That can be rare when dealing with kids and dogs at once! Kids were smiling, playing, and listened to us all! Pam + Sean, you have a great pair of kids.

A few tips to keep a young family happy during a day like this is plenty of water, treats, and a bribe for a trip to Menchies afterwards.

Hi all, we are sorry that we've been lagging in our blog posts the last few months! It's been a busy busy year for studio60. Ivy + Dayon's wedding in Caffino Restaurant in Liberty Village was spectacular! The amount of planning and details put into it was amazing. They created a theme that we relate to...Bikes! Tandem bikes that is...Tandem bicycles are a great way to symbolize their journey in life together. A vintage bike greeted guests at the start of the receiving table. This beautiful Sunday afternoon wedding was celebrated with traditions such as tea ceremonies, breaking bread, dancing around the courtyard and more.

What a fabulous day we had with N+D. They chose to have their Engagement photo shoot in Rockwood, Ontario and so glad they did! It is one of our favourite spots.

Having your engagement photography in Rockwood Conservation gives you a beautiful backdrop of ruins of an old mill, beautiful lake views, pathways in the woods and more. Sun was shining, dogs were well behaved, and only a few mosquitos buzzing allowed us to get some beautiful shots of this cute couple and their family of dogs.

Toronto Wedding Photography in Toronto City Hall | The Boiler House Loft | Distillery District

A lovely Mother's Day Wedding Weekend for Filipa + Colin in Toronto, Ontario. The ceremony was held at Toronto City Hall Wedding Chambers with an intimate gathering of their closest family and friends. This location has so many photo opportunities outside the doors. After taking some photos, we headed over to The Distillery District. It is one of our favourite places in Toronto for a wedding. Family and friends gathered for pictures amongst the walkways near The Mill Street Brewery, "Gooderham & Worts Ltd." overhead sign and a big red heart! This group were great baring the crowds and magic shows held in the Distillery District. The fun continued with F+ C at their reception in, T he Boiler House Loft. The decor of the Loft is beautiful and check out the place card holders! Our bride is a fantastic artist with her own business in ceramic designs. She focus' on functional tableware and decorative art pieces. We ended the reception with great speeches, group photos and a surprise first dance!

The reception was held at Paradise Banquet Hall, a beautiful and grand place to be. Outdoors provided a beautiful bridge that provided a backdrop for family photos and inside the Queen Anne room was gorgeous as well. We recommend Paradise for any occasion.

Emily+Ian | Casa Imperial Restaurant | Toronto Wedding Photography

We had the privilege to enjoy two tea ceremonies, a private bridal photo session at Guildwood Park and Richmond Green Sports Park followed by a true Chinese cuisine at the their wedding reception at the lovely Casa Imperial Restaurant.

This stunning bride rocked her three different outfits! A beautiful white gown, followed by her traditional Chinese red dress and for dinner, a gorgeous blush pink dress. The groom looked amazing too in his classic black tux.

With Emily and Ian living abroad, they held their wedding reception at Casa Imperial with their closest friends and family. Justin and I experienced new food, new traditions and had a wonderful time!

Ashley+Aaron Wedding Photography | Alexander Muir Gardens | Toronto

Catching up on our blog posts, we begin with Ashley + Aaron's Labour Day weekend wedding. It was a weekend spent with gorgeous people, intense humidity and heat, dark clouds and some rain.

A+A is our first couple who reside in British Columbia and hosted their wedding day in Toronto. With never meeting our bride or groom prior to their wedding date, we were thrilled to have them feel comfortable so quickly. Felt like we knew each other for years.

We experienced their "first look" at the bride's parents house with their family and friends looking on. With Aaron in the back garden, blind folded and waiting for Ashley he was pleasantly surprised.

Have you ever spent time in Alexander Muir Gardens? If not, be sure to do so. It is a beautiful Toronto photography location for any size of wedding party. We had a terrace, stone steps, garden pathways, wooden archways, open field and privacy too!

With water breaks and champagne flying, we had a great time with this bridal party. That bottle popped without one shake!

The ceremony and reception was held at the Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club. It was our first time photographing here and would recommend it to other couples. Ashley + Aaron had a beautifully decorated alter set up outdoors with blue sun shades (matched the girls dresses too!). Cocktails followed by dinner was spent listening to fun and thoughtful speeches. What we loved the most about this reception was once dinner was served and done, all the guests were greeted back into the cocktail lounge for drinks and dancing. Plenty of couches, chairs and cocktail tables framed the dance floor for these guests to enjoy the DJ and dance.

Family Fall Photo Session in TooGood Pond | Markham Ontario

So happy to be sharing this album. We managed to have a few leaves on trees left with fall colours for this family fall photo session. It was cold but at least it was dry. The H+T family and their dogs were incredible to photograph! We believe that Sierra (6 months) and Penny (6 years) stole the show in some of the photos. These beautiful Golden Retrievers watched their owners work the camera and then were able to pose themselves (...some treats may have been used as a bribe).

The location they chose was Toogood Pond in Markham Ontario. We never photographed a family session here before. It was an amazing location and we will be sure to recommend it for our other Markham and Toronto family photo sessions. Toogood pond provided us bridges, water, pathways and plenty of space for the dogs to run around. Great choice Koren!

Noorin + Feisal Wedding Celebrations!

Our Alberta couple had an incredible weekend for their wedding festivities. Hot and humid one day, and hot and stormy the other (does that sound weird?) In this blog post we combine Noorin's Mendhi Party and the Wedding Ceremony. The two days of celebrating we had with this couple was fantastic. We appreciate you having us as your Wedding Photographers!

Noorin's Mendhi Party!!

This Mendhi Party hosted 130 people in Noorin's Markham home. The Mendhi artists were amazing. These ladies were quick at what they do with beautiful results! We were told in advance it wasn't going to be the "traditional" Indian Mendhi Party, but Noorin still incorporated what was important to her and their families. The traditions we got to experience were incredible. The food (SOOOoo much food), seemed never ending and so good! What a great turn out and the atmosphere was amazing!

Wedding Day!!

When we arrived Noorin was ready to get her sari on. It was like watching art take place in front of your eyes. There is definitely an art to draping and wearing a sari. Well done ladies! We had a few minutes at Richmond Park before the rain started, but our umbrellas came in handy. N+F worked those umbrellas into their photos perfectly! The rain picked up during the ceremony (which was beautiful) and made an interesting take on the ice cream truck Feisal rented for Noorin. In the end, I believe we got the shots they were hoping for with it...and the ice cream!

We had the privilege of photographing this beautiful couple's Toronto wedding at The Four Seasons Hotel in Yorkville.

Can we say gorgeous! The decorations, the groom and of course, the bride! The details in this wedding were spectacular.

Grace looked beautiful in her wedding gown. Her petite frame in this full dress was like she was surrounded by a cloud. The classic, straight black tux Chris wore fit him perfectly, we loved it! C+G showed their guests their heritage when they greeted everyone in their traditional Korean Wedding outfits at the Reception. The colours were vibrant, looked spectacular on them and amongst the hotel's modern decor, made them pop in all their photos!

Valentina + Rafael get married!!

This couple were amazing! We loved everything about this day. The venue they chose, Estates of Sunnybrook was a great location for their intimate wedding of 55 people. Their formal wedding photography session was quick and easy! We had family photos, wedding party and a few intimates all before dinner. This venue is a great one-stop-shop to get all you ever wanted in a wedding day.

V+R were professional and fun. Amongst their close family and friends, these newlyweds looked amazing strutting their stuff on the dance floor. The crowd looked incredible too!

We loved being part of your day and appreciate you having us there!

We absolutely loved photographing this cute couple! Ashley + Cosimo's puppy, Laila made a star appearance for the beginning of this shoot. This Husky was beautiful and worked well with the camera.

We started off with our favourite spot in Georgetown, Scotsdale Farms, then off to a local bridge and creek then ended at Cosimo's for a quick pic.
The forecast called for rain all day but we were thankful to only have a 5 minute rain shower throughout our time together. Gave us a great opportunity to capture this couple embracing while on the covered porch!

Ashley + Cosimo were fantastic, so easy going and fun to be around...and of course a great sense of humour! The two of you were absolutely amazing to photograph and we truly can not wait for your big day next July, 2015. Congratulations on your Engagement!

Here's a sneak Peek of this fabulous wedding. We had the pleasure of photographing this wonderful couple and all their family and friends in Guildwood Park and then Riveria Parque Banquet Hall.

What a fabulous day for photography. The weather was gorgeous for us at Guildwood Park. We were the only wedding there but we were amongst a few teens having Prom pictures in their best dressed. The dress code in this park was black tie that day!

Overall, we had a successful day....loved working with you guys. Was SO easy to get your natural smiles, affection and true joy in each other.

We wish all the best for S+K! Enjoy your new lives together in Texas!

Hello All Family, friends, clients and strangers,

Are you ready for more photographs of Studio60's Family trip to England? Well here they are! Took us a while to get here but the blog is done (Took 3 posts to get all the pics we wanted to post on here!)

This second/third albums consists of our last half of our trip. Our trip included staying with the Dewfall's in Bristol then with the Preece's in Wolverhampton and then off the Hawksby-Calland's in Devon!

We had the honour of spending everyday with Justin's Nanny (grandmother), Aunt & Uncle. Did we mention that Auntie Barbara & Uncle Bob have THREE cats! Unfortunately, thanks to my stinkin allergies to cats, we had to stay at a nearby cottage. The cottage had beautiful views of fields, typical English lanes to/from B+B's house. Justin had a great time driving there!

We enjoyed our time in Devon. Not only visiting family and friends but we got to tour a few old churches, castles, seasides and more!
Next year, I think we will spend more time at the Ocean! It was so beautiful and we were fortunate to have great summer weather during our stay. Justin and Livia had personal surf lessons by Justin's old friend, Daniel Cullen (also a Wedding Photographer based out of Bristol, England). It was great seeing Justin and our two girls in wetsuits. Perhaps I will try to surf next time.

Thank you again for all our family who helped us make this trip possible! We are truly grateful we were able to spend such memorable time with all of you! We love you all and see you again soon!! Promise.

Studio60 + Family Go To England | Part One

A blog post about the trip we thought would never happen. Justin was born and raised in England and for many years, we have been saying once we have a bit more savings, we will travel there. Well, after a couple tragedies occurring this year, we decided this is the year of no more stalling. Life is too short! Unfortunately, it took a stroke in the family and a death of friend to wake us up, get off our ass, and book the trip. We are so grateful for the help of our family and friends who it made it possible. We had accommodations provided everywhere we needed to be. Studio60 (and daughters) took on cities, towns, farms, cottages and seasides!

With this year being Justin's 20 year reunion to his beloved England, he made out a daily agenda for each and every one of our 17 days. This was the first vacation we had been on that didn't include an All-Inclusive option on a white sandy beach so we needed something to go by. I was a bit skeptical on how well this trip would end up...I left all the planning to Justin! hahaha... It's not something he's use to having complete control over but with England being his territory and all his memories (being born and raised there) it was only right to have him cram as much site seeing for all his memories he wanted.

This trip included meeting family members he didn't know he had, introduce his family to everyone he grew up with, driving for the first time in England (since he left before he could), spending quality time with everyone (especially Nanny Hawksby), and climb steep & dangerous hills/cliffs with an 8 & 2 year old to get the perfect picture.

We felt so welcome from everyone. We loved every minute of it and can not wait to return. To all our family and friends that helped us make this vacation possible...Thank you.

We took over 6,000 photos so bare with us. This is Part One to our albums. The first half of our trip was in Bristol, England where Justin was born and raised.

Apri + Sameer @Scotsdale Farms & Rockwood Conservation | Georgetown & Rockwood

After all the emails and phone conversations we finally met Apri & Sameer on Sunday at our first location, Scotsdale Farm in Georgetown Ontario.

This bride-to-be requested a bohemian theme within her e-shoot. We are in love with this location for such a vision. Scotsdale Farms has big open fields, abandoned farm houses, and beautiful views all around. The sun was a bit much at times...our groom's eyes took a beating with a few sun-filled tears but he bared through it!

A+S have a beautiful engagement story. It is like a storybook...in fact the groom-to-be proposed to her by writing a book for her about their love story. (Check out the book in her hands in some pics.) It was absolutely romantic when they laid on their blanket surrounded by pillows and flowers reading their story.

We all worked up a sweat with the heat and blaring sun. So with a quick stop at McDonald's for an outfit change and refreshments, we rejuvenated to head over to Rockwood Conservation Park to include the Ruins in their photo session.

The Rockwood Ruins are stunning with so many archways, corners & space...it's another location perfect for this couple. The stone walls gave us a great back drops and seating for various poses.

Overall, a successful day with these guys...loved working with you guys. Was SO easy to get your natural smiles, affection and true joy in each other. We wish all the best for A+S! Enjoy your wedding celebrations in India!
